Effective date: July 1, 2026 Applies to: getaurelo.app and the Aurelo mobile app
Plain-English summary: These are the rules for using Aurelo. By signing up, you agree to them. The most important things to know up front: Aurelo never holds your money — your savings stay in your own bank accounts. Subscriptions auto-renew until you cancel. We earn affiliate commissions when you open recommended financial products through us, and we always disclose that. Disputes go to individual arbitration, not class actions or jury trials.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an Aurelo account, downloading the Aurelo mobile app, or using the website at getaurelo.app, you agree to these Terms of Service (the “Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use Aurelo.
These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Aurelo (“we,” “us,” or “our”). We may update these Terms from time to time as described in Section 16.
2. Defined Terms
In these Terms:
- “Aurelo” means Aurelo and its mobile and web applications.
- “App” means the Aurelo mobile application available on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
- “Auto-Save” means Aurelo’s automated transfer feature, which uses Plaid Transfer to move funds between bank accounts that you own.
- “Free Tier”, “Gold,” and “Gold Family” mean the subscription tiers described in Section 5.
- “Founding Member” means a user who purchased the Q3 2026 Founding Member subscription described in Section 7.
- “Plaid” means Plaid Inc., the third-party data and payments provider Aurelo uses for bank connectivity and ACH transfers.
- “Affiliate Partner” means a third-party financial product provider (such as a bank, tax software company, or insurance carrier) that Aurelo refers users to in exchange for compensation, as further described in Section 9 and the Affiliate Disclosure.
3. What Aurelo Is and Is Not
3.1 What Aurelo is
Aurelo is a personal finance software application. Aurelo helps you:
- Build and manage envelope budgets and savings goals.
- Connect your bank accounts (read-only) to track your spending and balances.
- Automate transfers between your own bank accounts using Auto-Save.
- Discover third-party financial products such as high-yield savings accounts, tax filing services, and renters insurance, where Aurelo may receive a referral commission.
3.2 What Aurelo is not
Aurelo is not a bank. Aurelo is not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, or money transmitter. Aurelo does not hold, custody, or insure your funds. Aurelo does not pay interest or yield. Aurelo does not provide investment advice.
All money you save through Aurelo stays in bank accounts that you own. Auto-Save moves your money between your own accounts using ACH transfers initiated through Plaid; the funds never enter an Aurelo-controlled account. Any interest you earn is paid by your bank, not by Aurelo.
Aurelo is a budgeting tool, not a financial adviser. Nothing in the App or on getaurelo.app constitutes investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice. You are responsible for your own financial decisions.
4. Eligibility and Account Registration
To use Aurelo, you must:
- Be a resident of the United States.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
- Not be prohibited by applicable law from using a financial software product.
To create an account, you provide a valid email address, set a password, and confirm your email. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity on your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately at jackie@getaurelo.app.
You agree to provide accurate, complete, and current information and to update it if it changes. We may suspend or close your account if we reasonably believe it has been compromised, used in violation of these Terms, or used to commit fraud or harm to others.
5. Subscription Tiers
5.1 Tiers and pricing
Aurelo offers three tiers:
- Free Tier — $0. Includes envelope budgeting (one active budget with up to one collaborator on that budget), Plaid bank connection, high-yield savings account recommendations, subscription detection and self-service cancellation guides, and up to two manual Auto-Save transfers per calendar month.
- Gold — $12.00 per month or $120.00 per year. Includes everything in the Free Tier plus unlimited active budgets with up to one collaborator per budget (delivered via the couples invite), unlimited automated Auto-Save rules, premium analytics, and premium themes.
- Gold Family — $20.00 per month or $200.00 per year. Includes everything in Gold plus up to five collaborators per budget. All collaborators must be members of the same Family plan; this is a household subscription, not a way to share budgets with arbitrary additional people. Includes a shared family financial dashboard and per-member privacy settings.
Annual plans are billed once per year and represent a 17% discount compared to twelve months of the corresponding monthly plan. Prices are in U.S. dollars and exclude any applicable sales tax.
5.2 Auto-renewal
YOUR SUBSCRIPTION WILL AUTOMATICALLY RENEW UNTIL YOU CANCEL. By subscribing, you authorize Aurelo (or Apple, Google, or Stripe, as applicable) to charge your payment method on a recurring basis at the then-current price for your plan.
Renewal cadence:
- Monthly plans renew every month on the same date you subscribed.
- Annual plans renew every year on the same date you subscribed.
We will send you an email reminder before each annual renewal at least seven (7) days in advance. We do not send reminders for monthly renewals.
You may cancel at any time. Cancellation stops future charges but does not entitle you to a refund of amounts already paid for the current billing period (see Section 5.4).
ATTORNEY REVIEW NOTE: California ARL compliance: please confirm that this Section 5.2, the in-app IAP purchase screen, and the Stripe checkout flow for Founding Member each independently satisfy California’s Automatic Renewal Law (Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code §17600 et seq.) — including conspicuous disclosure adjacent to the price, separate affirmative consent, and an online cancellation method that does not require a phone call. Also confirm 2024 FTC Negative Option Rule alignment and updated state ARLs in NY, IL, and OR.
5.3 Where you pay
How you are charged depends on how you signed up:
- If you subscribe through the iOS App, billing is handled by Apple under your App Store account.
- If you subscribe through the Android App, billing is handled by Google under your Google Play account.
- If you purchase a Founding Member subscription through getaurelo.app, billing is handled by Stripe under the payment method you provide at checkout.
Apple’s and Google’s terms of service govern any in-app purchase you make through their stores, in addition to these Terms.
5.4 Refunds
All subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. If you cancel mid-cycle, you keep access through the end of the current paid period and your subscription does not renew. We do not prorate or refund partial periods.
App Store refunds are governed by Apple’s policies. Google Play refunds are governed by Google’s policies. Refund requests for in-app purchases should generally be directed to the relevant store first.
5.5 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time. The cancellation method depends on where you subscribed:
- iOS subscribers: cancel in iPhone Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, or in the App at Settings → Subscription → Cancel.
- Android subscribers: cancel in Google Play → Subscriptions, or in the App at Settings → Subscription → Cancel.
- Founding Member (Stripe): cancel in the App at Settings → Subscription → Cancel, or by emailing jackie@getaurelo.app.
After cancellation, your account reverts to the Free Tier at the end of your paid period.
5.6 Price changes
We may change subscription prices for new sign-ups at any time. For existing subscribers, we will give you at least thirty (30) days’ notice before any price increase takes effect at your next renewal. If you do not want to pay the new price, you may cancel before the renewal date. Continued use after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.
Founding Members are exempt from price increases. If you are a Founding Member, your annual subscription price will not increase from the rate you locked in at the time of purchase, for as long as your subscription remains continuously active. See Section 7.
6. Auto-Save
6.1 What Auto-Save does
Auto-Save is an Aurelo feature that initiates ACH transfers between bank accounts that you own. For example, you can configure Auto-Save to move $100 from your checking account to your high-yield savings account on every payday.
6.2 Funds flow
Aurelo never holds your money. Auto-Save uses Plaid Transfer, a service operated by Plaid, to initiate ACH transfers directly from your source account to your destination account. Both the source and destination must be bank accounts that you own. Aurelo cannot send your money to a third party.
6.3 NACHA Authorization
Each Auto-Save rule requires you to authorize the underlying ACH transfers in advance. This authorization is collected through Plaid Transfer’s authorization interface, which presents you with NACHA-compliant disclosures of the transfer parties, amounts, frequency, and your right to revoke. You confirm authorization by completing the in-app authorization flow.
By completing the authorization flow, you (a) authorize Plaid and the originating depository financial institution to initiate the described ACH entries, (b) acknowledge the disclosures presented in the authorization flow, and (c) authorize Aurelo to instruct Plaid to initiate transfers in accordance with the rules you create.
You may revoke any Auto-Save authorization by deleting the corresponding rule in the App or by emailing jackie@getaurelo.app. Revocation is effective for transfers not yet initiated; revocation cannot reverse a transfer already in process. See the Auto-Save Disclosure for more detail.
ATTORNEY REVIEW NOTE: Please verify Section 6.3 against Plaid Transfer’s current partner-facing requirements, NACHA Operating Rules (Article 2, Section 2.3), and Reg E’s recurring-payment authorization requirements (12 CFR §1005.10(b)). Plaid’s drop-in UI handles the consumer-facing POA, but Aurelo’s Terms must accurately describe what the user is authorizing.
6.4 Free Tier transfer cap
Free Tier accounts are limited to a maximum of two (2) Auto-Save transfers per calendar month. The cap resets on the first day of each calendar month at 12:00 a.m. local time. There are no per-transfer fees on the Free Tier; the cap is the entire mechanism. Transfers exceeding this cap will not be initiated.
6.5 Gold Family transfer rate limit
Gold Family accounts are subject to a per-member rate limit of fifteen (15) Auto-Save transfers per member per calendar month. This limit exists to prevent abusive usage patterns and is not a marketed feature limitation; ordinary household usage will not encounter the limit.
6.6 Failed transfers
Auto-Save transfers may fail for reasons including insufficient funds, account closure, expired authorization, fraud holds, or technical issues at Plaid or your bank. If a transfer fails:
- Aurelo will notify you in the App.
- Aurelo will pause the affected rule until you re-authorize or repair the account link.
- Aurelo will not retry the transfer automatically.
You may be charged a non-sufficient-funds (NSF) or other fee by your own bank if a transfer fails. Aurelo does not charge such fees. Aurelo is not responsible for fees imposed by your bank.
6.7 Transfer timing
ACH transfers typically settle in one to three (1–3) business days. Aurelo and Plaid do not control settlement timing; it is governed by NACHA rules and the practices of your originating and receiving banks. Aurelo is not liable for delays caused by the ACH network, bank processing, weekends, federal holidays, or other circumstances outside our control.
7. Founding Member Program
7.1 Overview
During the Q3 2026 launch quarter (July 1, 2026 through September 30, 2026, or until the cap is reached, whichever is sooner), Aurelo is offering a limited Founding Member program. The Founding Member program is capped at one hundred (100) total participants.
7.2 What you get
As a Founding Member, you receive:
- A Gold subscription at the locked-in price of $99.00 per year.
- Protection from future price increases. Even if Aurelo raises the standard Gold price in subsequent years, your annual renewal price will remain $99.00 for as long as your subscription remains continuously active.
- All Gold tier features as they exist now and as they evolve over time.
- The option to upgrade to Gold Family at a discounted rate equal to the standard Gold Family price minus $4.00 per month, for as long as you remain a Founding Member.
7.3 What this is and is not
FOUNDING MEMBER IS A RECURRING ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION, NOT A ONE-TIME LIFETIME PURCHASE. You will be charged $99.00 every year on your renewal date until you cancel. “Locked-in pricing for life” means your price is locked, not that your subscription is paid up forever.
If you cancel your Founding Member subscription, you lose your locked-in price. If you later resubscribe, you will pay the then-current standard Gold price, not the $99.00 Founding Member rate. The locked-in price requires continuous active enrollment.
ATTORNEY REVIEW NOTE: Section 7.3 addresses the highest consumer-confusion risk in this program. Please review carefully. We have removed the word “lifetime” everywhere it could mean a one-time payment. Please flag any remaining language that could be construed as offering perpetual access without an ongoing charge. The Founding Member Program Terms (separate document) restate this in even more detail.
7.4 Cancellation and refunds
Founding Member subscriptions follow the same cancellation rules as standard Gold (Section 5.5), with the additional condition that cancellation forfeits the locked-in price as described in Section 7.3.
7.5 Cap enforcement
Once one hundred (100) Founding Member subscriptions have been sold, the program closes. Any attempted purchase after the cap will fail and no charge will be made. Aurelo will not run a second Founding Member cohort.
8. Bank Connection via Plaid
Aurelo uses Plaid to read your bank account information and to initiate Auto-Save transfers. When you connect a bank account, you authorize Plaid to access account data (including account and routing numbers, balances, and transactions) on your behalf, subject to Plaid’s End User Privacy Policy at plaid.com/legal.
Aurelo only uses bank data to operate the Aurelo App. We do not sell or share bank data for advertising or any commercial purpose unrelated to providing the service. See the Privacy Policy for further detail.
9. Affiliate Recommendations
Aurelo earns commissions from Affiliate Partners when you click an affiliate link in the App or on getaurelo.app and subsequently complete a qualifying action with the partner (such as opening a high-yield savings account, filing taxes, or binding an insurance policy).
Affiliate compensation does not change the price you pay. Aurelo is paid by the partner, not by you.
Aurelo is committed to transparent affiliate practices:
- Every screen in the App that surfaces an affiliate offer displays a clear affiliate disclosure inline.
- For high-yield savings account recommendations, Aurelo always sorts options by the best APY first, regardless of which partner pays the highest commission.
- Aurelo does not accept payment to display offers in a misleading order or to recommend products that are not competitive on their merits.
See the Affiliate Disclosure for the full FTC-compliant disclosure language and a list of categories where Aurelo participates in affiliate programs.
10. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Aurelo for any unlawful purpose, including money laundering, fraud, or evasion of taxes or sanctions.
- Provide false identity or account information.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disrupt the App, the website, or any underlying infrastructure.
- Scrape, automate, or programmatically access Aurelo without our prior written permission.
- Use Aurelo to send Auto-Save transfers to accounts you do not own.
- Use Aurelo on behalf of a business or other entity unless we expressly permit it in writing.
- Use the App if you are under 18 or not a U.S. resident.
Violation of this Section 10 is grounds for immediate suspension or termination of your account.
11. Intellectual Property
All content in the App and on getaurelo.app — including the name, logo, design, trade dress, software, and content — is owned by Aurelo or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App and the website for your personal, non-commercial financial management.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, or publicly perform any Aurelo content without our prior written permission, except as expressly permitted by these Terms or by applicable law.
12. Disclaimers
THE APP AND THE WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITH ALL FAULTS, AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, AURELO DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE.
Aurelo does not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components. You are responsible for your own data backups and for verifying the accuracy of any information you rely on for financial decisions.
Aurelo is a software tool, not a financial adviser. Any rate of return, savings amount, budget projection, or similar number displayed in the App is informational and not a guarantee, recommendation, or offer.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:
(a) AURELO WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE APP, THE WEBSITE, OR THESE TERMS, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF AURELO HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
(b) AURELO’S TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE APP, THE WEBSITE, OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (i) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID AURELO IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR (ii) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100.00).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages, so some of the above exclusions and limitations may not apply to you. In those jurisdictions, Aurelo’s liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Aurelo and its officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or in any way connected with (a) your use of the App or the website, (b) your violation of these Terms, (c) your violation of any law or the rights of any third party, or (d) any content or information you provide to Aurelo.
15. Dispute Resolution; Arbitration; Class Action Waiver
15.1 Informal resolution first
Before filing any legal claim, you agree to contact Aurelo at jackie@getaurelo.app and give us thirty (30) days to resolve the issue informally. Many disputes can be resolved this way without the cost or delay of arbitration.
15.2 Binding individual arbitration
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms, the App, the website, or your relationship with Aurelo will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules then in effect, except as modified by this Section 15.
The arbitration will be conducted in the State of Texas or, at your election, by telephone or video conference. The arbitrator’s decision will be final and may be entered as a judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction.
For claims under $10,000, Aurelo will pay all AAA filing and administrative fees.
15.3 Class action waiver
YOU AND AURELO EACH AGREE THAT ANY DISPUTE WILL BE BROUGHT ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS ONLY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS, COLLECTIVE, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. YOU WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS-WIDE ARBITRATION OR CLASS ACTION.
If a court determines that the class action waiver in this Section 15.3 is unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim (and only that claim) will proceed in court rather than in arbitration. The remainder of this Section 15 remains in effect.
15.4 Carve-outs
Either party may bring an individual action in small-claims court if the claim qualifies. Either party may seek emergency injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property rights or prevent imminent and irreparable harm. Neither such action waives any other rights under this Section 15.
ATTORNEY REVIEW NOTE: Please review Section 15 against current Fifth Circuit precedent (likely venue for Texas-incorporated Aurelo) and Ninth Circuit precedent (likely battleground for California user disputes). Confirm the AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules cross-reference is current and that the small-claims and IP-injunctive carve-outs are sufficient under Discover Bank progeny and the FAA.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Non-material changes (such as typo corrections or formatting updates) take effect immediately upon posting. For material changes, we will give you at least fourteen (14) days’ notice by email or in-App notification before the new Terms take effect. Continued use of Aurelo after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
17. Termination
You may stop using Aurelo at any time and request account deletion by emailing jackie@getaurelo.app or by using the in-App account deletion flow. Account deletion does not retroactively cancel any pending Auto-Save transfers; you should pause or delete Auto-Save rules before requesting deletion.
Aurelo may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for any violation of these Terms or for any conduct that Aurelo determines, in its reasonable discretion, to be harmful to other users, to Aurelo, or to third parties.
Sections 11 (Intellectual Property), 12 (Disclaimers), 13 (Limitation of Liability), 14 (Indemnification), 15 (Dispute Resolution), and 18 (Governing Law) survive termination.
18. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The Federal Arbitration Act governs the arbitration provisions of Section 15. Subject to Section 15, the state and federal courts located in Webb County, Texas have exclusive jurisdiction over any claim not subject to arbitration.
19. Apple App Store and Google Play Additional Terms
If you obtained the App from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge and agree that Apple Inc. is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you. App Store usage is also governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
If you obtained the App from Google Play, you acknowledge and agree that Google LLC is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the App or its content. Google Play usage is also governed by Google Play’s Terms of Service.
20. Miscellaneous
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, the Auto-Save Disclosure, the Affiliate Disclosure, and (if applicable) the Founding Member Program Terms, constitute the entire agreement between you and Aurelo and supersede any prior agreements. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Aurelo’s failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; Aurelo may assign these Terms to any successor.
